How M2E Handles Taxes for Kaufland Orders

1 min read

When selling on Kaufland through M2E Multichannel Connect, it's essential to understand how tax information is processed during order creation. M2E interprets the tax data from Kaufland and sends it to your store in line with your tax configurations.

Discover how M2E processes order taxes to support accurate invoicing and help you comply with European tax regulations.

Basic tax handling #

When handling taxes for Kaufland orders, M2E relies on two sources:

  1. Tax information provided in the Kaufland order
  2. Tax settings configured in your connected store

Kaufland tax settings #

Kaufland operates in the European Union and applies VAT rules based on the buyer's location and the seller’s VAT obligations. When an order is placed, Kaufland includes tax details in the order data.

Because tax collection is handled within the EU framework:

  • VAT amounts are typically included with each order.
  • M2E passes the VAT amounts to your store orders.

Each e-commerce platform connected to M2E has its own tax behavior. M2E aligns the tax data from Kaufland with your store’s tax settings for correct order import.

How M2E sends tax data #

If your store is set to calculate taxes, M2E sends the item price excluding VAT and provides the VAT amount separately in imported orders.

If your store expects VAT-inclusive pricing, M2E submits the gross price and VAT details in Kaufland orders.

VAT setup for Kaufland listings #

When creating new listings on Kaufland through M2E, the standard VAT rate is applied by default. However, you can change this setting to ensure products are published with the correct tax information.

To configure VAT for your Kaufland listings:

  1. In your Selling Policy, go to the Price > VAT section.
  2. Select the applicable VAT rate for your products (standard, reduced, zero rate, etc.).

M2E will send the VAT information to Kaufland along with other product details.
