Shopify Walmart Multichannel Solutions (MCS) User Guide

2 min read

M2E Multichannel Connect integrates your Shopify store with Walmart Multichannel Solutions (MCS). With this integration, your Walmart Fulfillment Services (WFS) inventory becomes available to fulfill orders not just from Shopify but also from eBay, TikTok Shop, Shein, and other channels you have connected. M2E handles order routing and stock sync automatically, so your availability stays accurate across every platform.

Follow the steps below to configure the integration

Step 1. Install the app #

Begin by installing the Amazon MCF / Walmart MCS by M2E app in your Shopify store. You will be prompted to review and grant the necessary permissions in your Shopify admin.

Step 2. Connect your Walmart account #

You will need a Walmart seller account with active WFS listings.

1) Open the Dashboard tab inside the M2E app.

2) Select Connect Marketplace Account, then choose Walmart.

3) Sign in to Walmart Seller Center and authorize M2E to access your account.

After authorization, the app will display your Walmart account as active.

M2E automatically pairs Shopify products with your WFS inventory using matching product IDs. For the items that aren't linked, you will need to do it yourself:

1) Go to the Listings tab in the app.

2) Find unlinked products and complete the linking process.

Step 4. Enable MCS order creation #

Open Settings > Orders and turn on "Create Walmart MCS orders from Shopify orders only for linked items". With this setting active, M2E will automatically forward qualifying Shopify orders to Walmart for fulfillment.

Step 5. Enable inventory sync #

Under Settings > Orders, enable the "Sync quantity from Walmart Fulfillment to Shopify" option to keep your Shopify stock levels automatically aligned with Walmart WFS and prevent overselling across your sales channels.

How MCS orders are processed #

Once the initial configuration is complete, review the details on how M2E routes orders to MCS, syncs tracking to Shopify, and handles multi-channel fulfillment.

Order routing requirements #

M2E forwards an order to Walmart MCS only when every one of these requirements is met:

  • Each item in the order has a corresponding WFS listing on Walmart.
  • Every Shopify product in the order is linked to its Walmart WFS counterpart.
  • Sufficient stock is available, and the listing status is Active.
  • The Shopify order has a Paid payment status, is still in Processing, and hasn't been fulfilled yet.
  • The buyer's shipping address is within the Walmart item's fulfillment region (US).
  • MCS order creation was already enabled in your M2E settings before the order came in.

Shipment tracking and updates #

As soon as Walmart processes a shipment, M2E pushes tracking numbers and status changes back to the matching Shopify order. When Walmart splits an order across multiple shipments, each one gets its own tracking entry in Shopify.

MCS fulfillment beyond Shopify #

This guide covers Shopify, but M2E works the same way with eBay, TikTok Shop, Shein, Temu, and other marketplaces. This means a single WFS inventory pool can serve all your sales channels through a single M2E integration.

Regardless of where the sale happens, the flow is the same:

  1. A buyer makes a purchase on any connected sales channel.
  2. M2E checks whether the items qualify for MCS fulfillment and, if so, creates the MCS order.
  3. Walmart ships the package, and M2E syncs tracking information back to the originating channel.
