Decathlon Marketplace Integration in M2E Cloud

8 min read

This guide explains how to connect, configure, and manage the Decathlon marketplace in M2E Cloud.

It focuses on what you need to set up inside M2E Cloud and how Decathlon behaves as a Mirakl-based marketplace. This means Decathlon follows Mirakl standards for product data, offers, pricing, and order processing.

What happens outside M2E Cloud #

Decathlon is a global sporting goods retailer that operates its own marketplace. It connects brands and merchants with customers looking for sports equipment, fitness gear, and outdoor products.

Decathlon operates across several countries, including Belgium, Czech Republic, France, Germany, Hong Kong, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Spain, Switzerland, and United Kingdom.

Each region may use a different currency (CHF, CZK, GBP, EUR, PLN, RON). If you sell in multiple currencies, you may need separate marketplace accounts and separate connections in M2E Cloud.

Who Decathlon is a good fit for #

Decathlon works best for merchants that sell branded sports and fitness products with clear product identifiers.

Good fit:

  • Sports equipment sellers
  • Fitness and wellness brands
  • Cycling, running, and gym gear suppliers
  • Outdoor and camping product sellers
  • Urban mobility products (e-scooters, bikes, accessories)
  • Brands with strong GTIN/EAN coverage

The marketplace favors structured product catalogs with reliable identifiers and consistent product data.

Requesting a Decathlon seller account #

Decathlon is a closed marketplace. To start selling, you must request access directly through Decathlon Seller Page.

During onboarding, Decathlon typically requests:

  • A signed contract
  • A completed onboarding questionnaire
  • A list of brands you plan to sell
  • Brand logos and product information
  • Company and operational details

Decathlon reviews each application manually. Approval timelines vary by category and region.

Once approved, you will receive access to the Mirakl seller back end. This includes the API credentials required to connect Decathlon to M2E Cloud.

Keep in mind:

  • Some categories require additional approval
  • Brand authorization may be requested
  • Selling permissions are defined by Decathlon

You can only proceed with the M2E Cloud connection after your Decathlon Mirakl account is active and fully approved.

Fees and payments #

Decathlon uses a predictable fee structure. Commission rates depend on the product category.

  • Setup fee: none
  • Monthly fee: EUR 40.00
  • Commission: usually 10-18%, depending on category
  • Payments: typically issued three times per month

What happens inside M2E Cloud #

Once Decathlon is connected, M2E Cloud becomes the control center for your marketplace operations.

You can manage product data, pricing, orders, and synchronization without working directly in the marketplace back-end for every change.

With the Decathlon Mirakl integration in M2E Cloud, you can:

  • Connect your Decathlon seller account using API credentials
  • Export products from your store to the marketplace
  • Map categories, attributes, and offer data
  • Apply pricing and currency rules
  • Import and process orders
  • Send shipment and tracking updates
  • Monitor validation results and fix issues

The integration keeps your store and marketplace aligned. Product data, stock levels, and order updates can sync automatically once everything is configured.

This section covers the actions you perform in M2E Cloud to prepare your catalog and manage synchronization.

  • Incorrect marketplace URL
  • Invalid or regenerated API key
  • Account not fully approved yet
  • Missing API permissions in Mirakl

Once connected: What happens next? #

After the connection is established, configure how products and orders behave in M2E Cloud.

1. List new products on Decathlon #

You can choose store products and export them to Decathlon as new listings.

After export, these products appear on the marketplace and can be managed from M2E Cloud. Stock and price updates will sync based on your store data and policies.

If products already exist on Decathlon and use the same SKU as your store items, M2E Cloud can automatically link them.

You can also link products manually using a CSV file. This is useful when SKUs differ or when you need to control which listings are synchronized.

Linking tells M2E Cloud which store product controls the quantity and price of each marketplace offer.

This step determines:

  • which existing listings are managed by M2E Cloud
  • which inventory values update on Decathlon
  • which prices are synchronized

3. Map categories and required attributes #

Before exporting any product, you must map categories and attributes.

This includes:

  • assigning each product to a Decathlon category
  • mapping required attributes
  • providing valid EAN/GTIN values
  • filling language-specific content fields

Some categories require additional fields such as dimensions, composition, or usage details.

Decathlon supports product variations, but variation data must be structured correctly and include a parent identifier.

If required attributes are missing or invalid, the marketplace will reject the product.

For a deeper explanation of how product details move between your store and the marketplace, see the Synchronization Policy guide.

4. Configure pricing and currency rules #

Pricing behavior is controlled through selling policies in M2E Cloud.

At this stage, you define how prices and quantities are sent to Decathlon.

This includes:

  • dase price source
  • quantity rules
  • currency conversion
  • country-specific pricing
  • discount configuration

M2E Multichannel Connect allows you to create multiple Selling Policies, so you can apply different pricing, quantity, and listing rules to each product group.

5. Configure order settings and status mapping #

Define how Decathlon orders are imported and processed.

This step controls:

  • whether orders are imported
  • how marketplace statuses map to store statuses
  • shipment confirmation back to Decathlon
  • tracking number synchronization

A correct order policy prevents status conflicts and keeps order data consistent across systems.

6. Set up shipping rules and delivery settings #

Shipping in M2E Cloud is managed through shipping policies, which control how orders are fulfilled and how shipment information reaches Decathlon.

Here, you define how products are delivered and how tracking data is synchronized with the marketplace.

Key configurations include:

  • Selecting available shipping methods for Decathlon orders
  • Automatically sending shipment confirmation and tracking information back to the marketplace

7. Monitor listings and resolve issues #

After setup, use M2E Cloud to keep an eye on your listings and ensure smooth operation.

The Listings page lets you:

  • Track export results and validation feedback
  • Spot errors in policies, attribute mapping, or pricing
  • Correct issues directly without pausing or disconnecting the marketplace

This keeps your catalog accurate and up-to-date while minimizing disruptions.

  • EAN/GTIN (8, 13, or 14 digits)
  • Brand

Key rules:

  • Maximum length: 80 characters

  • No duplicate information
  • Avoid special characters and promotional text

Titles should be clear, factual, and consistent with category standards.

Pricing and discount rules #

Pricing must follow Mirakl logic and Decathlon requirements.

Currency

  • EUR is the primary currency
  • Some regions use local currencies

You can define different prices per country where supported. Country price attributes override the default price.

Discount rules

Discounts must be valid to appear on the marketplace:

  • Discount price must be lower than base price
  • Start and end dates must be valid
  • Permanent discounts require a far-future end date
  • Bulk discounts require quantity > 1

Pricing v1 vs v2

If Pricing v2 is enabled:

  • Strike price = regular price
  • Price = discounted price

The strike price must be higher than the price. If both values are equal, the discount is ignored.

Incorrect pricing blocks export or removes discounts.

Shipping, tax, and other Mirakl attributes #

Some attributes control shipping behavior and tax handling.

Common Mirakl attributes include:

  • Lead time to shipment – handling time before dispatch
  • Offer state – product condition
  • Logistic class – shipping size category
  • Product tax code – tax category
  • Minimum quantity alert – low-stock warning

EPR fields

In some regions, you must provide environmental or recycling data:

  • EPR category code
  • Producer ID
  • Eco contribution amount

These fields depend on product type and country regulations.

FAQ #

Why is my product not listed? #

Common reasons:

  • Missing EAN/GTIN
  • Required attributes not mapped
  • Invalid pricing
  • Unsupported category
  • Image or title validation errors

Check the Listings page in M2E Cloud first. If no errors appear, review Mirakl import reports.

Where can I find validation errors? #

You can find errors in two places:

M2E Cloud

  • Listings page
  • Export status messages

Mirakl back-end

  • Catalog → Product imports
  • Download the Non-integrated products report

The Mirakl report contains the most detailed feedback.

Does Decathlon support product variations? #

Variations such as size or color are supported, but they must be structured correctly and include a parent product ID.

An incorrect variation structure can block product approval.
