This error occurs when Temu rejects a product update or listing due to the handling time (also known as fulfillment time) being 2 days or more. For certain product categories, Temu only accepts a handling time of 0 or 1 day.
What is handling time #
Handling time refers to the number of days it takes you to process an order and hand it over to the carrier after a customer places it. For example:
- 0 days = same-day dispatch
- 1 day = next-day dispatch
- 2+ days = rejected by Temu (for specific categories)
Temu enforces this rule to meet their fast-shipping standards and ensure high customer satisfaction.
How to fix the error #
Step 1. Identify affected listings #
Go to the Temu Listings tab in the app and find the products affected by the error.
To filter them quickly, click the Groups icon (folder icon). Then, select Action Required > Errors, and click on the relevant error message.

Step 2. Edit handling time in the Selling Policy #
Once you’ve filtered affected listings, update the handling time via the Selling Policy:
1) Click the affected Temu item and open the product card.
2) Navigate to the Policies tab. Click the eye icon next to the Selling Policy.

3) Scroll down to the Handling Time section to edit the value.
Step 3. Choose how to set the handling time #
You can set the handling time in the Selling Policy by choosing one of the following options:

- Sourced from a custom Temu attribute (you can manually enter the value)
- Sourced from a Store/Catalog attribute (linked to your store's product data)
⚠️ Make sure that the Handling Time value is either 0 (same-day dispatch) or 1 (next-day dispatch).
Any value of 2 or higher will be rejected by Temu for specific categories.
Step 4. List products to apply changes #
After updating the handling time in your Selling Policy, save your changes and list the products to push the update to Temu:
1) Select the affected Temu products in the Listings tab.
2) In the mass actions menu, click the List button.

Why Temu has this restriction #
Temu is built around a fast delivery model, and shorter handling times help:
- Ensure quick shipping and order turnover
- Maintain high customer satisfaction
- Meet the growing demand for faster fulfillment in today’s e-commerce landscape
Can you request approval for a 2-day handling time #
Yes, but only in special cases, and approval must come directly from Temu. Temu may grant exceptions for:
- High-volume or top-rated sellers
- Sellers with a dedicated Temu account manager
- Special product types that require more preparation time (e.g., custom-made, oversized, or regulated goods)
If 2 days is essential for your business model:
1) Contact Temu Seller Support or your assigned account manager.
2) Provide a clear explanation of your situation:
- Why do you need 2 days of handling time
- The types of products you’re selling
- How do you plan to maintain reliable shipping and fulfillment
3) Request that they manually allow a 2-day handling time for:
- Specific SKUs
- A product category
- Or your entire store (if applicable)
Keep in mind that this approval is not guaranteed, and each request is evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
