We have added a new feature to M2E Multichannel Connect. It is the Listing Validator Assistant for eBay. It helps you build complete, compliant, and ready-to-sell listings from the start.
The Assistant checks key details before you publish. This prevents avoidable errors and helps your products go live on eBay without delays.
In this guide, you will see how the Listing Validator Assistant works and how to use it to prepare your catalog for successful eBay listings.
Why use the eBay Listing Validator Assistant #
See product readiness at a glance
The Assistant shows how prepared your Store or Catalog products are for eBay. You will see which items are ready and which ones need more work.
Get clear, actionable tips
For every issue, the Assistant explains what is wrong and provides instructions on what to do next. You will know precisely how to meet eBay requirements and publish products with confidence.
Fix issues your way
You choose how to resolve each point.
- Update the data in your Store or Catalog.
- Utilize M2E tools, such as custom attributes, filters, or groupings, to fill in missing or invalid fields.
- Provide required compliance or category data such as item specifics, brand and identifiers, condition, images, GPSR information, or other mandatory attributes.
Where to find the Listing Validator Assistant #
You will meet the Assistant during the eBay listing flow. It appears at the final step, after you click List Now. At that moment, M2E runs an automatic check to confirm that all required information is present.
If something is missing or incorrect, the Assistant opens and shows a clear breakdown of the issues with guidance on how to fix them.

ℹ️ If all or some of your products are already valid, the Assistant doesn't appear. Those listings continue to publish automatically in the background. You can track their status on the Listings page.
How to get the best results #
- Keep your source data clean. Make sure titles, descriptions, prices, quantities, images, and identifiers are accurate.
- Use item specifics that match the eBay category. Fill brand, MPN or GTIN, size, color, and other required attributes where applicable.
- Rely on M2E bulk tools to apply consistent updates across many products. This saves time and reduces errors.
With the Listing Validator Assistant helping at the final step, you spend less time fixing issues after the fact and more time getting your products in front of eBay buyers.
How to prepare your products for eBay with the Listing Validator Assistant #
The Listing Validator Assistant groups all results by issue type. For each issue, you see how many products are affected and why it matters under eBay rules.
If you attempt to list items without a Brand, you will see a grouped error message stating, ‘Brand doesn’t exist for the product.’ The Assistant explains that your chosen eBay category requires a valid brand value.
View and apply solution tips #
Next to every issue, there is a Next Steps button. Click it to open a list of possible fixes with clear instructions.

The Assistant will guide you through the change inside M2E Multichannel Connect or tell you exactly what to update in your Store or Catalog.
Example fix for Brand
If Brand is missing, the Assistant opens your M2E Category Policy with the Brand field highlighted.

Now choose how to fix it.
- If your Store or Catalog already holds brand data in an attribute or metafield, set that field as the source.
- If your Store has no brand data, pick a value from the eBay brand list.

Confirm your choice and M2E saves the change.
Other common solutions you may see in Next Steps:
- Adjust the Description or Selling Policy.
- Add the missing data directly to the product.
- Update multiple products simultaneously with export and import.
- Map-related attributes, such as Brand and Manufacturer, or required safety and compliance fields.
- Edit the Category Policy if the selected category or its specifics are not correct.
When you must edit your Store or Catalog
Some problems can’t be fixed inside M2E. In such cases, the Assistant points this out and lists the necessary changes. You may need to add a missing description, correct an invalid value, or complete item specifics in your source data.

Recheck and list products #
You may see several errors for the same set of items. Resolve each one before listing on eBay. After making your fixes, click List Now to trigger validation again. The Assistant rechecks your products and updates the results.

Products that pass validation are sent to eBay right away. If all items are valid, you return to the Listings page. Items with errors stay in the Assistant until you fix them.
Save unresolved items and finish later #
If you are not ready to fix everything, click Save As Incomplete to close the Assistant. Your progress is safe. On the Listings page, these items display the Incomplete status.

When you are ready, go to the Listings page, filter by Incomplete, select the products you want to work on.

Choose Manage Items then List.
The Listing Validator Assistant opens, allowing you to continue and publish the items once they are ready.

Why this helps #
The Listing Validator Assistant catches problems before they reach eBay. You get plain explanations, guided steps, and the freedom to choose the best fix. Valid items move forward without delay. Incomplete items stay visible until they meet all requirements. This means fewer errors, faster publishing on eBay, and more time to grow your sales.
