TikTok Shop requests brand information across various categories. This helps verify product authenticity and confirm that you are the brand owner or an authorized reseller. Approval also unlocks stronger protection tools for your listings and content.
Registering and protecting your brand ensures your account remains compliant and fosters buyer trust.
This guide explains the brand approval process and how M2E supports clean listings and inventory sync.
How brand protection works on TikTok Shop #
One of the most common questions from new TikTok Shop sellers is how to keep a brand protected. TikTok offers protection tools, but they work best for sellers with registered trademarks and approved brand authorization.
Since M2E supports only brands approved by TikTok, your first step is to request brand authorization in the Seller Center.
Open Seller Center → My Account → Account Settings → Qualification Center → Brand Qualification, choose the option that fits your role, and submit the required documents.

Once TikTok approves your authorization, brand protections apply to your account and listings. This helps TikTok confirm authenticity, reduce misuse, and build buyer trust.

How M2E helps with successful brand listings on TikTok Shop #
When creating new TikTok Shop listings in M2E Multichannel Connect, some categories require a Brand value. M2E utilizes your approved brands to maintain listings that are clean and compliant.
ℹ️ Before you assign brands in M2E, request brand authorization in TikTok Seller Center for each brand you plan to sell. M2E will submit only brands that are approved on your TikTok account.
💡 You can still list products without official brand authorization. In M2E, select the TikTok Shop attribute for your brand and choose a generic option like ‘unbranded.’
Set the Brand value in attribute settings in M2E in two ways:
1. Pick from your approved brand list. Select a Brand value from the list that M2E fetches from your TikTok Shop account.

2. Map a store attribute or metafield. Choose a field from your store or catalog that already holds the brand name.

⚠️ The value must match the exact approved brand name on your TikTok account. If the name doesn’t match, TikTok won’t accept it.
If the brand is approved, M2E includes it automatically when sending your product data to TikTok Shop.
✅ If the Brand attribute isn’t mandatory for a category, you can leave it blank. M2E will still publish and sync the listing.
Update brand information on existing listings
Use Category Synchronization in M2E to add or correct brand values in bulk.
- Define the Brand in your TikTok category attribute settings in M2E.
- Open the Synchronization Policy assigned to your TikTok listings.
- Enable Revise Category Data and save.

M2E will update category attributes on TikTok Shop so your listings reflect the new Brand.
Speed up approvals with built-in checks
