Common reasons #
The error occurs when the required package dimensions (height, width, length, and weight) are missing or incorrectly entered. TikTok Shop requires accurate dimensions for all products to list them successfully.
To prevent the dimension-related issues:
- Ensure all required fields are filled:
Enter valid values for height, width, length, and weight. - Use the correct format:
Measurements must be numeric and greater than zero. Avoid using text, symbols, or leaving fields blank.
How to fix the error #
⚠️ Before you begin, make sure to identify your TikTok Shop listings affected by the error.
Step 1. Edit package dimensions in the Selling Policy #
Once you’ve filtered affected listings, update the package dimensions via the Selling Policy:
1) Click the affected TikTok Shop item and open the product card.
2) Navigate to the Policies tab. Click the eye icon next to the Selling Policy.

3) Scroll down to the Package dimensions section to edit them.

Update package dimensions in bulk
If multiple products share the same Selling Policy, you can update their package dimensions in bulk:
1) Select the affected TikTok Shop items in the Listings tab.
2) In the mass actions menu, click Change Settings > Change Policy.

3) Select an existing Selling Policy or click the eye icon to review and adjust it.

Step 2. Choose how to set the package dimensions #
You can set the package dimensions in the Selling Policy by choosing one of the following options:
1) Default attribute from your Store or Catalog

- The dimensions will be pulled from the default attribute in your store.
- Ensure that dimensions are added and accurate for each product in your store.
2) Custom attribute from your Store

- Select a specific attribute from your store in the dropdown.
- Verify that the selected attribute is assigned to the product and contains valid values.
ℹ️ You can also use M2E Custom Attributes in case the dimensions are not set in your Store or you need different set of values for TikTok Shop.
M2E Custom Attributes are the alternative attributes that you can use apart from your store settings. They are created and stored in the M2E application. Make sure to assign the custom attribute to your products and ensure it contains valid values.
3) Custom Value

- Manually input package dimensions.
- This option works best for products of the same type and size.
Step 3. Relist products to apply changes #
After updating the dimensions in your Selling Policy, save your changes and relist the products to push the update to TikTok Shop:
1) Select the affected TikTok Shop products in the Listings tab.
2) In the mass actions menu, click Manage Items > List.

If you've provided the package dimensions correctly, your products will be listed successfully, and their status will update to "Active".
There needs to be a bulk attribute change in the tiktok shop. Going item by item is needlessly frustrating and time consuming.
