Leroy Merlin Marketplace Integration in M2E Cloud

8 min read

This guide walks you through working with Leroy Merlin Marketplace in M2E Cloud – from the initial setup to daily management.

It also explains how the marketplace operates on Mirakl, including how data is structured, how listings are created, and how orders are handled.

What happens outside M2E Cloud #

Leroy Merlin is a large European home improvement retailer. It operates across several countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Poland, and Portugal.

The platform runs on Mirakl. This defines how data flows:

  • Product content and offers are managed separately
  • Listings require structured attributes and validation
  • Orders and shipments follow fixed workflows

For sellers, this means one thing: clean data and consistent processes are critical.

Who should sell on Leroy Merlin? #

Leroy Merlin is built for sellers with scale.

It works best if you:

  • Manage a large or structured catalog
  • Sell DIY, furniture, garden, or home products
  • Handle bulky or complex logistics
  • Operate in multiple European markets

If your catalog lacks structure or key identifiers (such as EANs), onboarding will slow down.

What you can sell on Leroy Merlin #

Leroy Merlin focuses on home improvement and related categories.

You can sell:

  • DIY and construction materials
  • Tools and equipment
  • Furniture and interior items
  • Garden and outdoor products
  • Home appliances
  • Lighting and electrical goods
  • Bathroom and kitchen equipment
  • Storage and organization solutions

The marketplace is designed for structured catalogs with clear product specifications. Categories often require detailed attributes such as dimensions, materials, or technical parameters.

Seller onboarding #

You must apply to Leroy Merlin directly.

The process includes:

  • Business and VAT verification
  • Product category approval
  • Operational review (stock, delivery, returns)

Approval is required to access Mirakl.

Fees and payments #

Leroy Merlin uses a predictable commercial model:

  • Setup fee: none
  • Monthly fee: EUR 39 (excl. VAT)
  • Commission: depending on the category
  • Payouts: multiple times per month

There are no hidden platform costs, but margins depend on category fees and logistics.

What happens inside M2E Cloud #

When you connect Leroy Merlin Marketplace to M2E Cloud, you control your catalog, pricing, and operations from one place. This removes the need to switch between systems and reduces manual work.

With the Mirakl integration, you can:

  • Connect Leroy Merlin using API credentials
  • Publish products from your catalog to the marketplace
  • Map categories and product attributes
  • Apply pricing rules and currency conversion
  • Sync stock, orders, and shipment updates

This guide walks you through connecting Leroy Merlin, preparing your catalog, and setting up reliable data synchronization.

Requirements before you start #

Make sure your account and catalog meet the requirements below. Missing any of these can block listing creation or order flow.

You need:

  • An active Leroy Merlin seller account (approved and live)
  • Access to Mirakl Seller Center
  • A valid Mirakl API key
  • Products with valid EAN / GTIN codes
  • Prices available in the marketplace currency (usually EUR, depending on region)

Common connection issues #

If the connection fails, check the following:

  • Invalid or outdated API key
  • Missing API permissions in Mirakl
  • Seller account not fully approved

Once connected: What happens next? #

After you connect to Leroy Merlin, configure how your catalog and orders behave. This step defines how data flows between systems.

1. List new products on Leroy Merlin #

Select products from your catalog and send them to Leroy Merlin as new listings.

Once published:

  • Products appear on the marketplace
  • M2E Cloud controls price and stock based on your source data

If your products already exist on Leroy Merlin, link them to your catalog.

Linking ensures M2E Cloud knows which product controls each listing.

This step defines:

  • Which existing Leroy Merlin listings are updated
  • Which stock and price values are synced

3. Map categories and attributes #

Assign each product to the correct Leroy Merlin category and complete the required attributes.

This is mandatory before listing.

During this step, you will define:

  • Marketplace category per product
  • Required and category-specific attributes

Accurate mapping improves listing approval and visibility.

For a deeper understanding of how product data is synchronized between your store and the marketplace, refer to the Synchronization Policy guide.

4. Configure pricing and stock rules #

Use selling policies to control how your offers behave.

This includes:

  • Price sources (from your store)
  • Quantity rules
  • Discounts and promotions
  • Currency conversion (if needed)

You can create multiple policies to manage different product groups at scale.

5. Set up order flow #

Define how Leroy Merlin orders are handled in your system.

This step controls:

  • Whether and when orders are imported
  • How statuses map between systems
  • How tracking and shipment updates are sent back

A clear setup prevents delays and status conflicts.

6. Configure shipping and delivery settings #

Set how shipping is managed and reported to Leroy Merlin.

This includes:

  • Available delivery methods for existing orders
  • Shipment confirmation
  • Tracking data synchronization

7. Monitor performance and fix issues #

Use the Listings page in M2E Cloud to track activity and resolve problems.

You can:

  • Review listing status and validation results
  • Detect mapping or pricing errors
  • Fix issues without stopping synchronization

Regular monitoring helps maintain listing quality and avoid disruptions.

What happens in the marketplace back-end? #

Leroy Merlin marketplace features #

Leroy Merlin is a Mirakl-based marketplace with a structured and strict feature set. Most operations depend on clean product data and correct mapping.

Supported

  • Product content and offer management
  • Orders and automatic synchronization
  • Shipments and tracking updates
  • Carrier mapping (optional, but recommended)
  • Multi-country sales via sales channels

Not supported

  • Marketplace fulfillment services
  • Built-in repricing tools
  • Automated product relationships
  • Multiple stock locations

Product and offer requirements #

To publish products on Leroy Merlin, all required data must pass Mirakl validation. Missing or incorrect attributes will block listing creation.

Product content (mandatory)

  • EAN / GTIN – 13-digit product identifier
  • Brand – must exist in Leroy Merlin’s database
  • Product title (per country/language)
    • Max 120 characters
    • Include brand and key attributes (size, color, material)
  • Category assignment

Product content (recommended)

To improve the approval rate and visibility:

  • High-quality images (min. 500×500 px)
  • Localized descriptions per market
  • Complete attribute mapping
  • Technical documents (if applicable)

Incomplete content often leads to delays or limited visibility.

Offer and pricing rules #

Leroy Merlin separates product content from offers. Even if the product exists, the offer must meet pricing and attribute rules.

Base pricing

  • Prices must be submitted in EUR or PLN (depending on the market)
  • Currency conversion is required if your store uses a different currency

Discounts and promotions

Leroy Merlin supports Mirakl pricing logic:

  • Discounted price must be lower than the base price
  • Start and end dates must be valid
  • Bulk discounts require a quantity threshold

Two pricing models may apply:

  • Pricing v1: Discount price + date fields
  • Pricing v2: Strike price (original) + Price (discounted)

Incorrect pricing prevents the publication of offers or hides promotions.

Shipping, tax, and Mirakl-specific attributes #

Several attributes directly affect order processing and delivery.

Common required attributes

  • Storage country – where inventory is located (mandatory)
  • VAT per country – must match each active sales channel
  • Lead time to shipment – handling time before dispatch

Listing validation and visibility #

If products don’t appear on the marketplace, the issue is usually validation-related.

Common reasons:

  • Missing or invalid EAN
  • Required attributes not mapped
  • Product not yet validated by Leroy Merlin
  • Pricing or VAT issues
  • Incorrect export strategy (content vs offers)

Where to check errors

If no clear issue appears in M2E Cloud, check the Mirakl back-end:

  1. Log in to your Mirakl Seller Center
  2. Go to Catalog → Product imports
  3. Open the latest report
  4. Download the Non-integrated products file

This report contains detailed validation errors from Leroy Merlin.
