TikTok Shop Logistics Options #
There are three main logistics options.
Fulfilled by TikTok (FBT) #
- What it is: End-to-end service, TikTok Shop stores inventory, picks & packs, ships, handles returns, and provides value-added services.
- Best for: Sellers prioritizing fast fulfillment and lower operational costs.
Shipped via Platform (4PL) #
- What it is: You store inventory and prepare labeled parcels; TikTok Shop collects from your warehouse and delivers to customers.
- Best for: Sellers looking to maintain inventory control while leveraging TikTok’s shipping subsidies.
Shipped by Seller (3PL) #
- What it is: You handle the entire process, storage, picking/packing, shipping, and delivery.
- Best for: Sellers who prefer fully self-managed fulfillment.

- FBT availability: Not offered in all countries and may be limited to specific fulfillment centers.

How TikTok Shop Calculates Shipping Costs #
- At checkout (buyer view): The shipping price shown is the lowest rate from TikTok Shipping rate cards.
- Final charge (seller view): The actual carrier fee is finalized after pickup/scan and appears on your Settlement details page.
- On your bill: Seller shipping fee = Carrier shipping fee − Buyer shipping fee.
- Coupons: If a buyer uses a shipping coupon, TikTok reimburses that discount after delivery, so you don’t absorb it.
- Fee matching (as of 9/17): Buyer shipping is calculated from what the seller will pay, so the difference should be $0, unless you choose a more expensive carrier/service.
- Avoid adjustments: You’re responsible for any extra costs from weight/dimension discrepancies. Enter accurate package specs when registering products.

What the “Shipping” line includes (net total)
Shipping = TikTok Shipping fee + FBT shipping fee − Customer-paid shipping
- Customer-paid shipping refund − TikTok Shipping incentive;
- TikTok Shipping Incentive Refund: Shipping Fee Subsidy + Return Shipping Fee.
Core shipping fees
- TikTok Shop shipping fee: What you pay when you use TikTok Shipping.
- FBT shipping fee: What you pay when you use Fulfilled by TikTok.
- Customer-paid shipping fee: What the buyer pays at checkout (may be refunded).
- Return shipping fee: The cost you incur for return deliveries.
Discounts, subsidies & incentives
- TikTok Shop shipping incentive: Platform incentive when you use TikTok Shipping or FBT (can be reversed if the order is refunded due to seller fault).
- Shipping fee subsidy: Platform support when you use Seller Shipping (3PL).
- Customer-paid shipping fee before discounts: The original buyer's shipping price pre-discounts.
- Seller shipping fee discount: Any shipping discount you, the seller, give the buyer.
- TikTok Shop shipping fee discount to customer: The shipping discount is funded by TikTok Shop.
Logistics-related adjustments you might see
- Logistics adjustment: Corrections for fee discrepancies (e.g., wrong weight/size).
- Logistics reimbursement: TikTok Shop reimburses you for logistics-related losses or campaigns.
- Logistics deduction: Shipping cost charged to you for sending free samples via TikTok Shipping.
- TikTok Shop reimbursement: Repayment from TikTok for losses tied to returns/refunds or other issues.

Base Shipping Rates #
Standard Shipping
UPS - UPS Ground
- Weight limit: up to 150 lb per package;
- Pickup: Paid value-added pickup;
- Rates: 48-state origin; confidential per UPS contract. Rates include Fuel, Residential, and Delivery Area (Rural) surcharges. Extra surcharges may apply to large/heavy items.
USPS - Ground Advantage
- Weight limit: up to 70 lb.
- Pickup: Drop off at USPS or schedule a paid pickup;
- Dimensions: Length + girth ≤ 108"; 108"-130" billed at oversize rates;
- Dimensional weight (if > 1 cu ft / 1,728 in³): bill actual vs. DIM, whichever is higher:
- DIM formula: (L × W × H) / 166
- Oversize trigger: L + 2W + 2H
- Example: 25" × 25" × 25" > L+2W+2H = 125" (oversize); DIM = 15,625/166 ≈ 94.1 lb > billed at DIM if actual weight is lower.
USPS - Priority Mail
- Weight limit: up to 70 lb;
- Pickup: Drop off or paid pickup;
- Dimensions: Length + girth ≤ 108" (oversize rules & DIM logic as above).
FedEx
- Standard Overnight (Express): drop-off; ≤150 lb; ≤119" length or ≤165" L+2W+2H;
- 2Day (Express): drop-off; ≤150 lb; ≤119"/165" as above;
- Express Saver (Express): drop-off; ≤150 lb; ≤119"/165" as above;
- Ground (Commercial only): Standard; drop-off; ≤70 lb; ≤108" length or ≤165" L+2W+2H;
- Home Delivery (Residential only): Standard; drop-off; ≤70 lb; ≤108" length or ≤165" L+2W+2H.
Express Shipping
TikTok uses UPS 2nd Day Air, FedEx Standard Overnight, FedEx 2Day, and FedEx Express Saver.

- Non-Standard Dimension 1 (22" < L ≤ 30"): $4.00;
- Non-Standard Dimension 2 (L > 30"): $8.40;
- Non-Standard Volume (Volume > 2 cu ft): $18.00.
USPS Priority Mail
- Non-Standard Dimension 1 (22" < L ≤ 30"): $4.00;
- Non-Standard Dimension 2 (L > 30"): $18.00;
- Non-Standard Volume (Volume > 2 cu ft): $30.00.
Volume check: Cubic feet = (L × W × H) / 1,728.
- Example: 20" × 20" × 20" > 8,000 / 1,728 = 4.63 cu ft > Non-Standard Volume applies.
TikTok Shop Shipping Costs Structure (EU) #
Who pays what (by shipping type):
- Ship by TikTok: TikTok arranges delivery with third-party carriers. You fulfill packing/labeling; TikTok manages shipment and customer-service issues.
- Ship by Seller: You choose an approved carrier and pay all delivery costs directly to the carrier. You’re responsible for tracking quality, delivery SLAs, and any fulfillment-related customer issues.
