2 min read

This guide explains how TikTok Shop commission fees apply to EU sellers. It outlines current rates, upcoming changes, available reductions, and shows how fees are calculated with clear examples.

The information applies to the EU5 markets: Germany, Spain, France, Italy, and Ireland.

Important commission update (effective January 2026) #

The TikTok Shop commission fee is a percentage charged on each completed order for using the platform. It is calculated on the order value and includes applicable taxes, such as VAT.

From 00:00 CET on 8 January 2026, TikTok Shop will increase its platform commission fee in EU markets.

  • Before 8 January 2026: 5%
  • From 8 January 2026: 9%

This update supports TikTok Shop’s long-term marketplace growth and platform improvements.

Commission fee reductions #

TikTok Shop offers several ways to reduce the standard commission fee.

Category-level reductions #

Products in eligible Electronics categories (incl. Beauty & Personal Care Electronics) may receive a reduced commission rate of 7%.

Important rules:

  • The reduction applies only to eligible product categories.
  • If a product is miscategorized and later corrected by TikTok Shop, the reduced rate will not apply.
  • Mixed orders are allowed. Only eligible items receive the reduced rate.

New seller commission reduction #

From 8 January 2026, eligible new sellers can reduce their commission from 9% to 4% for up to 60 calendar days.

Who qualifies as a new seller?

TikTok Shop verifies eligibility through an internal review. To qualify, a seller must meet both conditions:

  • First TikTok Shop EU store
    • The seller must not have onboarded TikTok Shop in EU5 before.
    • The first store must be opened in an EU5 market.
    • Verification may include business, tax, contact, and technical data.
  • Unique product portfolio
    • Products must be substantially different from those previously sold on TikTok Shop EU.
    • TikTok Shop reviews product IDs, names, descriptions, features, and images.

How the new seller reduction works

  • Eligible sellers receive a mission in Seller Center
  • The mission must be accepted within 15 calendar days
  • Sellers must upload at least 5 active products
  • Once completed, the reduced rate applies for up to 60 days

Sell-across-EU benefit #

The new seller reduction applies across all EU shops operated by the same seller.

Example: A French seller uploads 5 products to their German shop. During the same period, the reduced commission also applies to their French shop.

Key limits:

  • Sellers can qualify as a new seller only once in EU5
  • The reduction applies once across all EU businesses
  • New EU stores created after the reduction period use the standard rate

Other commission reductions #

From time to time, TikTok Shop may offer additional commission reductions.

These may come through:

  • Seller missions
  • Incentive programs
  • Special agreements

All active incentives are communicated directly to sellers.

How to calculate the commission fee #

TikTok provides a clear formula to calculate the fee:

Commission Fee = ((Net Sales + Customer-paid Shipping Fee + Platform Discount) − (Net Sales Refund + Platform Discount Refund)) × Commission Fee Rate
