Split a TikTok Shop Order Into Multiple Packages

1 min read

When the items a TikTok Shop customer ordered don't fit into a single package, you can ship the order in several packages, each with its own tracking number. This is called an order split, and it's useful when heavy or bulky items have to be sent out in several parcels.

TikTok Shop marks an order as Shipped only after every package in it is fulfilled, and there is no intermediate Partially shipped status. With order split, you can ship an order in multiple packages and still have the order register correctly.

This guide explains how M2E handles split TikTok Shop shipments and synchronizes them with your e-commerce platform.

What counts as a split shipment #

M2E treats a TikTok Shop shipment as a split when all the items don't fit in a single package. For example:

  • Same product, split across parcels. A customer orders 5 units of product A. The seller ships 4 units under Tracking #1 and the last unit under Tracking #2.
  • Different products, split across parcels. A customer orders product A and product B. The seller ships product A under Tracking #1 and product B under Tracking #2.

In short: if the quantity in one package doesn't cover the whole TikTok order, or the order uses more than one tracking number, M2E treats it as a split shipment.

How M2E handles split shipments #

M2E helps you manage split shipments on TikTok Shop automatically from your e-commerce platform. Once the TikTok Shop order is imported into your store, you fulfill it there as usual and provide the tracking numbers.

M2E synchronizes that fulfillment information with TikTok Shop. As you ship each item in your store, M2E picks up its tracking number and applies it to that item on TikTok Shop.

Order status during a split #

TikTok Shop has no Partially shipped status. Instead, an order shipped in parts is tagged Split shipment and stays under the To ship tab until every item and its full quantity is fulfilled.

Once all items are shipped in your store, the TikTok Shop order moves to Shipped.

Fulfilling the order in your store is the only step you need to complete. M2E reports each shipment from your store to TikTok Shop and updates the status of your split orders there accordingly.
