Planning to open a TikTok Shop in the Netherlands? Before you can list products and start selling, you need to create a Seller account and complete TikTok Shop’s business and identity verification process.
This guide covers every registration step for Dutch sole traders, privately-owned businesses, and publicly-listed companies.
ℹ️ TikTok Shop may update its registration rules. Check the official Netherlands seller guide before you start your application.
Step 1: Sign Up for TikTok Shop #
Start your registration through the Netherlands Seller Center.
Choose how you want to create your account:
- register with your mobile phone number;
- register with your email address;
- continue with an existing TikTok account.
TikTok Shop will send a one-time verification code to the phone number or email address you provide. Enter this code to continue with the onboarding process.
A phone number or email address can only be connected to one TikTok Shop Seller account. You will need to use different contact details if yours have already been used.
You must complete the full business and identity verification process before TikTok Shop approves your account and allows you to finish setting up your shop.
ℹ️ Once approved, your TikTok Shop can be connected to your ecommerce store through M2E TikTok Shop integration. You can start with a 30-day free trial and guided onboarding.
Step 2: Select Your Business Structure #
Choose the option that reflects your legal business status.
Available business types for Netherlands sellers are:
- Sole Trader;
- Privately-owned business;
- Publicly-listed business.
Check your official registration documents before making your selection, as the business type must match them exactly.
ℹ️ TikTok Shop doesn’t support individual seller registration in the Netherlands.
Step 3: Add Your Company Information #
Enter the business details shown in the official Dutch trade register. Incorrect or inconsistent information may cause verification delays.
If You Are a Sole Trader
Provide:
- your registered business name;
- your official registration number;
- your registered business address.
Make sure the business is active in the trade register before applying.
If You Represent a Private or Public Company
Enter:
- the company’s full legal name;
- its trading name, if it has one;
- the official registration number;
- the VAT number, if applicable;
- the registered business address.
All information must match the official registration records, including spelling and formatting.
Step 4: Appoint Your Business Representative #
Choose who will complete the registration on behalf of the business:
- a Company Director or Owner;
- a Primary Authorised User.
The representative must reside in the Netherlands and complete TikTok Shop’s identity and address checks.
Primary Authorised Users must upload a signed letter confirming their authorisation from an active company director.
Step 5: Complete Identity Verification #
The selected representative must verify their identity before the application can continue.
For Netherlands sellers, TikTok Shop accepts:
- passports;
- national ID cards;
- driving licences;
- permanent residence permits.
Scan or upload the required sides of the document. The images must be clear, complete, and easy to read.
You will also need to complete facial verification with a selfie or short video. This confirms that the identity document belongs to you.
Once the upload is complete, check the personal information filled in by TikTok Shop. Correct any details that don’t match your ID.
Step 6: Verify Your Residential Address #
Provide the representative’s home address and upload proof that confirms it.
You can use:
- a utility bill;
- a bank statement;
- an Uittreksel BRP.
The document should normally be less than three months old and must display the representative’s name and address clearly.
Step 7: Add UBO Details if Requested #
TikTok Shop may ask certain businesses to complete an Ultimate Beneficial Owner verification step.
If requested, prepare the following information:
- full legal name;
- identity document number;
- date of birth;
- nationality;
- identity document type and expiry date;
- residential address.
Step 8: Set Up Your Shop Profile #
Choose a clear shop name. It will be public, so use a name that customers can recognise.
You may also add a shop logo. A logo is not required, but it can make your shop easier to identify.
Add or confirm:
- your account email;
- your phone number.
Step 9: Send Your Application for Review #
Submit the application when all sections are complete.
TikTok Shop usually reviews it within 1-3 business days. You will receive the decision by email.
If TikTok Shop rejects the application, follow the instructions in the email. Correct the errors and resubmit it through Seller Center.
Step 10: Get Your Shop Ready to Sell #
Approval is only the first part of the setup. You must complete a few more tasks before you can sell.
Make sure you:
- confirm your warehouse, pickup, and return addresses;
- set up shipping;
- complete payment settings;
- add your bank details;
- publish your first product;
- connect an official TikTok account.
You can then create shoppable videos and sell through LIVE sessions.
To register successfully, your business details must be complete and consistent. Use the same information shown in the Dutch trade register and provide valid documents for the selected representative.
